Bromley 1-1 Havant & Waterlooville
Bromley 1-1 Havant & Waterlooville

Ten man Bromley maintained their unbeaten home record with a hard fought draw in a eventful and entertaining game against Havant who had sacked their manager in the week.

Bromley started well with Mike Jones & Elliott Buchanan going close before they were reduced to ten men on 6 minutes when Liam Harwood saw red for denying a goal scoring opportunity after Joe Welch had a clearance blocked.

Welch made up for his part in the incident by saving Tony Taggart’s penalty and the rebound from Steve Ramsey. Welch denied Ramsey again soon after, before Bromley took the lead on 19 minutes when Pierre Joseph Dubois headed home a corner despite what looked a handball on the line.

The game then flowed from end to end with The Hawks creating the better chances, but finding Welch in good form.

The second half was totally dominated by the visitors Ollie Palmer missed a great chance to equalise and Ryan Moss missed two even better ones before Palmer then had a goal ruled out for offside.

Eventually, Havant’s pressure paid off on 81 minutes when a deep cross was headed home by Scott Jones to make it 1-1.

Bromley’s players literally put their bodies on the line in the final few minutes making block after block, in injury time Jerome Sobers made a vital saving tackle and Welch another save from Ryan Woodford to keep hold of a hard earned point for The Ravens.
